I’ve done this before, and got away with it (I think). So, it only makes sense that I do it again. Gotta keep a tradition going, y’know? (or at least try to)
When I sat down thinking about the past year (2022) and the one before that (2021), it’s honestly coming to me as one big blurred face. So, it obviously took me sometime to gather my thoughts and kinda look back at what the f*ck happened in these past two years.
Anyway, here’s a quick round up of 2022.
January:
I start the year with the optimism of a 6 year old riding a bike for the first time.
February:
I get surprisingly more adept in a portfolio that I never thought I will be so hands-on for. Also got a buttload of free skincare samples for the three ladies in my life.
March:
I gave my room a mini makeover and was part of a now famed to be “actually, we didn’t need this” proposal and multiple stalled proposals at work, not the best start.
I went up mountains, literally.
April:
I was working on a digital proposal for a movie company, realized it just might’ve a waste of time and resources.
May:
Not much, I think?
June:
I turn 25.
July:
Watched the Minions movie in a children-filled cinema hall, never gonna do that again.
Proposal processes that I’ve been following at work continued to be a mess, realized it wasn’t the most ideal set up.
August:
I said fuck it and went full hands on for a new proposal. Long story short, I won it and gave an end to an unfortunate streak.
I became part of the McDonald’s working team — contributing to the increasing obesity numbers in the country. Plus, burgers were fun.
I went hiking.
September:
Had my busiest month of the year where I was part of literally both creative teams while working on multiple accounts and campaigns/proposals.
Went on a work trip out of town, 20 minutes out of town to be exact.
October:
I revisit an old place with someone not as old. The beach was fun.
McDonald’s got my order wrong and I’m due to getting a free burger for my next visit.
November:
Had dinner with some folks — proceeded to hear 95% of my old working team leaving the workplace for reasons.
December:
Work became a routine again. I stepped up and it paid off. I feel better than I did in March, I look to more things/opportunities in the new year.
Not being able to see fireworks was kind of a bummer, but it is what it is.
